What is vufflens castle?

Vufflens Castle is a located in the municipality of Vufflens-la-Ville in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. The castle dates back to the 12th century when it was first built as a fortress. In the 15th century, the castle was rebuilt into a more elegant residence.

The castle is surrounded by a moat and has four towers, three of which are round and one is square. The castle's interior features many original Gothic and Renaissance elements including vaulted ceilings, sculpted fireplaces, and painted ceilings.

In 1951, the castle was sold to Swiss insurance company La Bonne Vaudoise, who restored the castle to its former glory and used it as their headquarters for many years. In 1990, the castle was sold again and turned into a luxury hotel and restaurant.

Today, Vufflens Castle is a popular wedding and event venue and hosts guided tours of the castle and its grounds. The castle is also open to the public during certain hours for visitors to admire its architecture and learn about its history.
